Alaska State Troopers on Wednesday responded to a South Miller Loop Road residence in Nikiski to investigate a disturbance that occurred earlier this week.

An investigation revealed that 49-year-old Edward ‘Dewayne’ Baker of Nikiski threw frozen food at a family member causing her injury and pain, according to the Alaska State Trooper dispatch.

Contact also was made with 34-year-old Miranda Lynn Martinez of Nikiski, who reportedly is on felony probation on an original charge of 2nd degree attempted misconduct involving a controlled substance with conditions not to be around other felons or possess prohibited weapons or controlled substances or paraphernalia.

Both Baker and Martinez were arrested and remanded at Wildwood Pretrial without bail. Baker faces charges of 4th degree assault and domestic violence. Martinez faces charges of 3rd degree misconduct involving weapons and probation violation.
