Alaskans Get 10th Most “Frugal” Ranking

According to a new study by WalletHub.com Alaska has the 10th most frugal shoppers in the U. S.

 

Alaska’s low spending may be a good thing since as of June 30 of this year total consumber debt in the U.S. stood at $11.63 trillion according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

 

Spending in Alaska(1=Biggest; 25=Avg.)

  • 40th – Personal Expenditure on Food & Beverages
  • 42nd – Personal Expenditure on Gasoline & Other Energy Goods
  • 51st – Personal Expenditure on Housing & Utilities
  • 36th – Personal Expenditure on Health Care
  • 47th – Personal Expenditure on All Other Consumption
  • 34th – Number of Cars per Household
  • 38th – Auto & Credit Card Debt
  • 50th – Annual Consumer Savings Account Averages
  • 41st – Average Home Square Footage

 

 

WalletHub experts used ten metrics to compile the statistics and adjusted those by average income and cost of living.
