Virtual public meetings will be held February 23-25th as a way to provide information and answer questions about the right of way applications for a proposed North Slope natural gas pipeline and Alaskans are invited to attend. The Alaska LNG project proposes a 32-inch pipeline from the Point Thompson Unit’s Central Pad to Deadhorse, as well as a gas treatment plant on the North Slope and liquefaction plant on the Kenai Peninsula linked by an underground pipeline that spans 807 miles.
Virtual meetings will be conducted by the Department of Natural Resources to inform the public, solicit comments and answer questions on the right-of-way permit. Comments on the right-of-way lease applications may result in changes before the DNR commissioner issues a final decision. The meetings will be conducted through the Microsoft Teams online collaboration platform. After a video presentation on the Alaska LNG project and pipeline right-of-way leasing process, the public will have an opportunity to provide thoughts and ask DNR staff questions.
The public meetings are scheduled for:
- Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Wednesday, Feb. 24, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Thursday, Feb. 25, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Those unable to attend through the Microsoft Teams platform may participate in an audio-only teleconference by dialing (907) 2020-7104, and at the prompt of entering the nine-digit conference ID for the appropriate meeting, followed by the pound sign.
