Three unidentified men climbed the Alaska Capitol building in Juneau on July 31 and stole the American and Alaskan flags.
Based on footage from the building’s security cameras, the trio entered the construction area of the Capitol around 1:00 am, climbed the scaffolding, and destroyed the flags’ rigging to steal the flags.
The story and pictures from security footage were shared by Juneau Assembly member Jesse Keihl on the Juneau Community Concern Facebook page.

The Juneau Police are investigating the matter as vandalism and theft.
Anyone with information is aske to call Steve Daigle, Chief of Security, at 465-6227 or JPD directly at 586-0600 (Case No.: 150731-004; Officer Overturf).
