Anchor Point Woman Arrested For Assault On Family Member

21-year-old Iris Strongheart of Anchor Point was arrested by Alaska State Troopers in Anchor Point on Tuesday, February 16.

 

Troopers responded to a Birch Haven address in Anchor Point for a welfare check. Strongheart and another family member was contacted. A subsequent investigation revealed Strongheart assaulted the unidentified family member multiple times over the course of several days. The injuries, although not specified, were serious and required hospitalization.

 

Troopers report that Strongheart was on conditions of release in a prior assault and interfering with a domestic violence report case and her conditions prohibited her from being at the residence or having contact with the family member.

 

Strongheart was arrested and remanded to the Homer Jail pending arraignment. The unidentified family member was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
