Alaska State Troopers received reports of a two-vehicle collision near mile 160 of the Sterling Highway, on April 25, 2023, at 5:25 pm.
Investigation showed a Chevrolet pickup traveling northbound, with two occupants, crossed the center line striking a Saturn Sky in the oncoming lane.
The passenger in the pickup, Carol Spracklin, age 57, of Anchor Point, received life-threatening injuries in the crash and was declared deceased by EMS.
The driver of the pickup was ultimately transported to an Anchorage hospital with serious injuries.
The driver and sole occupant of the Saturn Sky was medevaced to a Soldotna Hospital with serious injuries.
The road was closed for several hours however, an alternate route was available.
Carol’s next of kin has been notified.
The investigation is ongoing.
