An Anchorage man was arrested by Alaska State Troopers after leaving an accident on K-Beach Road and later reporting the vehicle involved stolen.

Last Friday, July 31, Alaska State Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white Chevy pickup near Mile 1.5 of K-Beach at 11:22 pm.

That Chevy fled from officers, the driver eventually fleeing on foot.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 30-year-old Robert Jackson of Anchorage.

Jackson later contacted Alaska State Troopers to report that Chevy as stolen.

After making contact, Troopers arrested Jackson for leaving the scene of an accident, failing to stop at the direction of a peace officer in the second degree, and providing a false report.
