Anchorage Man Arrested For Theft And Assault On A Police Officer In Sterling

The Alaska State Troopers report that a man was in the Cook’s Tesoro service station in Sterling causing a disturbance for the second time that evening. This reportedly happening on Sunday night at around 10:30 p.m.

 

The online trooper dispatch reports that the man had previously been told that he trespassed from the store and was asked not to return. Upon arrival, troopers were told that the man had stolen items as well. The man was located and identified as 44-year-old Arthur Reekie of Anchorage, who had over $270 worth of merchandise on him. It also was discovered that he entered an abandoned residence before trespassing at the service station.

 

Reekie was arrested for one count of first degree and one count of second-degree criminal trespass, concealment of merchandise, and third-degree theft. Reekie also allegedly kicked a trooper during the investigation and was arrested for fourth degree assault on a police officer.

 

He was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial.
