An Anchorage woman was arrested on Friday, Nov. 8, at the Spring Creek Correctional Center after it was discovered that she had smuggled suboxone to an inmate there.

Just after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Alaska State Troopers in Seward received a promoting contraband complaint from Spring Creek Correctional Center (SCCC). The investigation revealed that 19-year-old Whitney Lamont of Anchorage had smuggled suboxone into the facility. Whitney delivered the suboxone to 19-year-old inmate Robert Dundas. Dundas swallowed the suboxone before being detained by correctional officers.

Lamont was placed under arrest for misconduct involving controlled substances (MICS) in the 4th degree and promoting contraband in the 1st degree. She was then transported to Wildwood Pretrial, where she was remanded on the aforementioned charges without bail.

The following day, Troopers executed multiple search warrants, including a search warrant on Whitney’s vehicle. The search of the vehicle revealed a concealable handgun in Whitney’s purse. Seward AST filed an additional charge for misconduct involving weapons (MIW) in the 2nd degree.

Additionally, Seward AST is requesting several summonses for Dundas, including MICS in the 4th degree, promoting contraband in the 1st degree, and tampering with physical evidence.
