An Anchorage woman was arrested by Alaska State Troopers on Friday, July 2nd, after multiple people began to call 911 reporting a vehicle traveling from the Cooper Landing area heading toward Sterling. The callers were reporting that the vehicle was running people off the road, speeding, passing unsafely, tailgating and spotted the driver drinking alcohol, according to the online trooper dispatch.

Alaska State Troopers located the vehicle just north of Sterling and conducted a traffic stop. An investigation revealed that 25-year-old Yasmine Okpealuk-Paquin of Anchorage as the driver, who was found to be impaired by alcoholic beverages.

Also, Alaska State Troopers, during the traffic stop, spotted an infant in the vehicle as were numerous firearms.

Okpealuk-Paquin was arrested for driving under the influence, first degree endangering the welfare of a child, and fourth degree misconduct involving weapons. Okpealuk-Paquin’s breath alcohol concentration was reportedly one and a half times over the legal limit.
