Today Jeremy T. Anderson appeared in Kenai Superior Court after being indicted last week.

 

His attorney, Dina Cale, waived the formal reading of his charges and entered not guilty on all counts.

 

Anderson was a Nikiski Middle/High teacher accused of conducting a six-month relationship with a student.

 

According to Troopers, a 15-year-old female told another teacher last May that she and Anderson had been having an affair.
The 37-year-old spent the month of May recovering in a hospital from some self inflicted injuries. After his release, Anderson was arrested on seven charges of sexual abuse. That number grew to 16 after Troopers investigated further.

The affair allegedly began in December of 2013 and continued through early May.

 

If convicted, Anderson could face up to $0.5million in fines and 99 years in prison for each of the 14 counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor. He also faces two class B felonies, which carry a maximum of a $10,000 fine and ten-year prison sentence.

 

Judge Bauman then set the trial for January 6, 2015 with trial call set for January 5.

 

An omnibus was also set for December 19 which also marks a motions deadline.
