They’re not Soldotna residents, and they don’t want to be. A group of “concerned borough residents” will be meeting tonight to discuss their opposition to possible annexation.
Patricia Mott lives on Echo Lake Road and says this isn’t the first time she’s had to fight for her land…
Mott: “We don’t want the restrictions, we don’t want the rules. We want to live where we chose to live or where most people chose to live. They came after I was here, so I didn’t have a choice to live in the city or not, the city wasn’t here, but people that have moved there lately, they don’t want to be in the city either. They want to be outside the city. So the city needs to recognize that. If they’re going to want to entice people to want to live in the city, then they’re going to need to be the ones who change.”
Tonight’s meeting will be 6pm at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex.
