Anchorage Police located 38-year-old Vasily Basargin this morning, the Eagle River construction worker who went missing last Saturday, July 11.
Basargin was last seen taking a break from an Eagle River construction site.
Over the last two days APD has received multiple calls from nearby residents, reporting a man matching his description attempting to enter homes and sheds along with a man loitering high in the trees.
On Monday K-9 Officers found a sleeping bag in the woods near the area and believed it may have been used by Basargin.
Around 9:37 Wednesday morning a resident reported a disheveled man with twigs and leaves in his hair knocking on doors and wandering through yards.
Basargin said he hadn’t eaten in five days and is being treated at a nearby hospital for dehydration.
Police have not disclosed a motive for his disappearance but Basargin has been under supervision by the Department of Corrections for a series of criminal offenses.
