Anchorage Representative Gabrielle LeDoux has been accused of illegally taking and giving campaign donations and the Alaska Public Offices Commission released details of a complaint against the republican.
The Alaska Democratic Party Communications Director Jake Hamburg outlines the alleged wrongdoings in which his organization has filed against LeDoux…
Hamburg: “She’s formed this PAC, and was the first one to form this PAC, that in that she has received contributions from lobbyists outside of her district, which is prohibited by Alaska law. She’s also received contributions both in her campaign, but she’s received contribution from her PAC from the same individual, and then she has distributed these contributions to other legislative candidates.”
Gabby’s Tuesday PAC made $1000 contributions to Kenai Peninsula candidates Paul Seaton and Gary Knopp. The group also donated to candidates Jim Colver, Bob Lynn, Wes Keller, Mike Gordon, Colleen Sullivan-Leonard, Dave Talerico, Tammie Wilson, and Steve Thompson.
Representative LeDoux stated “…the group’s solicitation and acceptance of campaign contributions from lobbyists was cleared with APOC staff.” If this is the case, the complainant, Joe McKinnon says APOC would have misunderstood the law.
The three alleged violations LeDoux is facing relate to lobbyist contributions, acceptance of excess contributions, and illegal contributions to other candidates.
