The Alaska Public Offices Commission held a hearing today with the Alaska Democratic Party and Representative Gabrielle LeDoux’s political action committee “Gabby’s Tuesday PAC” on the allegations of the PAC receiving lobbyist contributions, LeDoux’s acceptance of excess contributions, and her illegal contributions to other candidates.
APOC met with the complainant and respondent today to determine whether expediting the complaint was necessary or not. Alaska Democratic Party Executive Director Kay Brown…
Brown: “The material we presented does meet the requirements for expedited consideration in this situation. We have a completely new structure that has been started and that has the potential to affect the outcome of elections, just a couple of months away. There is urgency to have this matter resolved because other PAC’s have been, similar PAC’s, have been started up.”
Timothy McKeever, the attorney representing Rep. LeDoux and her PAC…
McKeever: “We have had discussions with the complainant and I think we mutually agree that it’s important that this issue be resolved promptly but that fairness would suggest that we have or need more time to prepare fully our argument on the substance of the case.”
The meeting went into an executive session regarding processing this complaint as an expedited request but no information, as to what was determined, has yet been publicized.
