The Alaska Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) is accepting applications for its 2025 summer sessions, offering a free, weeklong program designed to empower youth with disabilities through leadership training and resource education.

Held at two locations—the University of Alaska Fairbanks from July 28 to August 2 and the Alaska Christian Retreat in Soldotna from August 11 to 16.

YLF brings together Alaskan youth for hands-on learning and mentorship.

Participants will engage with experts and peers to develop self-advocacy, communication, and independent living skills while exploring education, employment, assistive technology, and disability rights.

Organized by the Statewide Independent Living Council, the forum is open to folks with any disability who reside in Alaska between the ages of 14 and 24.

Attendees do not need to live near the event location to participate. Travel assistance and accommodations are available upon request.

This initiative aims to prepare young Alaskans with disabilities for successful transitions into adulthood and leadership roles.
