Appropriating Funds for Gazebo back Before Council

A resolution to reappropriate funding for the construction of a flower field gazebo will be up for public hearing.

The Beautification Committee’s request for $20,000 to build the gazebo was turned down earlier this month but Mayor Pat Porter said a private party then came forward to help with the project.

Porter: “We actually have had the Navarre family who had some leftover nice lumber that they’re willing to donate for the lumber portion of the construction.”

The resolution would move $8,400 from the Legislative Professional Services fund to the Parks, Recreation, and Beautification Professional Services fund.

The city council open this resolution to public testimony during tonight’s meeting which begins at 7 pm in the Kenai Council Chambers.
