Team Alaska for the 2023 Arctic Winter Games is in the process of finalizing teams for the upcoming 2023 Arctic Winter Games in Wood Buffalo, Northern Alberta, Canada. The 2023 Games are scheduled to run from January 29th through February 4th.
Basketball registration is ongoing with a deadline in early December. Indoor soccer (Futsal) tryouts and registration are also ongoing. Multiple sports have closed the registration period; however, openings due arise as selected players confirm or refuse selection.
Athletes will compete in 21 different sports including traditional sports and Dené games.

The Wood Buffalo 2023 Arctic Winter Games includes athletes from the Northwest Territories, Yukon, Nunavut, Alaska, Greenland, Nunavik (Northern Quebec), Northern Alberta and the Indigenous people (Sami) of Norway, Sweden and Finland.
Covid Mandate Update
The Covid vaccination mandate for participants in the 2023 Wood Buffalo Games has been rescinded.
2024 Arctic Winter Games
The Arctic Winter Games International Committee awarded the 2024 games to be hosted by the Mat-Su Borough in 2024. Alaska last hosted the Games in 2014 in Fairbanks and the Kenai Peninsula hosted the Arctic Winter Games in 2006.
