Peninsula high school nordic skiers competed with the best in Alaska at the two-day, Lynx Loppett event held at Kincaid Park in Anchorage; with classic style races on Friday and freestyle races on Saturday.
Kenai’s Karl Danielson lead all peninsula skiers with top-10 finishes in both the classic and freestyle competitions. Danielson finished sixth in Friday’s classic race and eighth in Saturday’s freestyle event. Danielson’s total time placed him eighth overall for the two days of competition. SoHi’s John-Mark Pothast recorded an eighth in the classic event and a 12th in the freestyle.
In the girls competition, Kenai’s Addison Gibson was the top peninsula skier with a 15th place in the classic event and a 14th place overall for the two days of skiing.
