The Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly passed the addition of the design for the final phase of Central Peninsula Hospital’s radiology expansion to the funding already allocated for the previous two phases.
Chief Executive Officer Rick Davis of CPH…
Davis: “The radiology remodel is our in-patient radiology department in the hospital and we’ve been on a five phase remodel project there for the past three to four years. We’re getting ready to do the last phases, phases four and five, and those are going to be occurring over the next two years.”
In 2014 Assembly members approved $3,134,000 for the design and completion of phases three and four which include the remodeling and installation of fluoroscopy equipment and a replacement MRI.
On January 11, 2016, the Central Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area Board recommended that phase five’s design be included into the previously allocated funding because the work is connected both physically and operationally with the prior two phases.
The Service Area Board members stated that completing the design and interconnected work in one process “will reduce effort and costs.”
