Alaska State Troopers received a report of an injured woman on Kashevaroff Mountain Trail in Kodiak on Monday evening, a little after 7:00 p.m. A 40 year-old Kodiak woman had been riding an ATV when it rolled over on her, causing injury.

Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded, and the Kodiak Island Search and Rescue team was called out to assist. Troopers and Rescue team personnel evaluated the injured woman and packaged her in a rescue litter for transport.

On-scene evaluation determined a helicopter extraction would be optimal, based on the suspected injuries and terrain. U.S. Coast Guard assistance was requested and an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew from Coast Guard Station Kodiak responded and medevacted the woman to local EMS.
