The earthquake was centered near the Iliamna Volcano located in the Lake and Peninsula Borough. Based on initial reports and preliminary data, the earthquake should not have caused any significant damage, but was felt by communities from Port Alsworth to across the Kenai Peninsula and into the Anchorage Bowl.

Shanon Davis told KSRM, “We had, through our offices during the course of the one-month program, 1,674 people walk into our office to get their voucher. We had 1,426 who sent their voucher request with their receipts online through our drop form.”

Grants were awarded to nonprofits across the state in Bristol Bay, Yukon–Kuskokwim Delta, Bering Straits, Interior, Southcentral, and Southeast. The grant distribution prioritized nonprofits supporting public health, food security, housing, and basic needs.
