Alaska Has Over 200 New COVID-19 Cases

The state Department of Health and Social Services reported 211 new resident cases yesterday and four new nonresident cases. Sunday marks the 25th straight day that Alaska has seen more than 100 new cases of COVID-19.

U.S. / Canada Border Remains Under Restrictions Due To COVID-19

Travelers can cross into Canada only for essential reasons, such as work and study. Critically, security officers at the Canadian-American border will determine whether a trip is for an essential reason. Travelers are encouraged to have documentation that demonstrates the purpose of travel. Under the Canadian rules, travelers can’t visit national parks or other tourism destinations.

The self-response and field data collection for the 2020 Census will conclude by today, according to a press release from 2020census.gov. Internet self-response will be available across the nation through 1:59 a.m. AK Time. Phone response will be available for its regularly scheduled time on October 15, 2020.
