The ACS Lions won both the girls and boys tournament championships finishing tournament play with 3-0 records; both recording victories over host SoHi on Saturday.

Friday basketball featured play in 3A, 2A and 1A basketball for peninsula schools.

In advance of the three-day SoHi Al Howard Tip-Off Basketball Tournament, the Soldotna Stars faced the Anchorage Christian School Lions in Northern Lights Conference basketball on Wednesday at Soldotna High School.

Morgan Aldridge raced to the individual Women’s 40-44 age group championship at the USA Winter Triathlon National Championships.

The championship of the Bethel Donlin Gold Invitational Basketball Tournament was decided in the final games of the tournament on Saturday with the Bethel Warriors defeating Nikiski for the girls and boys titles.

For a second-straight night, the Stars were swept by the Warriors in Wasilla.
