Star Track Teams Race To Borough Titles

The 2016 Kenai Peninsula Borough Track and Field Championships, the first of the track season’s “Big 3”, crowned team and individual champions at Soldotna High School on Saturday. The Soldotna High girls and boys track teams each won the team championships, with Kenai finishing second in both team results. Individual Highlights & Accomplishments: Girls SoHi’s Daisy Nelson captured all three sprint events winning the 100M, 200M, and 400M Kenai’s Julieanne Wilson won both the long jump (new KCHS record 16’9″) and triple jump Kenai won 800M Relay, 1600M Relay and 3200M Relay SoHi won 400M Relay; SoHi’s Danica Schmidt won the High Jump SoHi’s Sylvia Tuasaula won the Discus; Kenai’s Abby Beck won the Shot Put Kenai’s Kasey Paxton won the 3200M Individual Highlights & Accomplishments: Boys Kenai’s Josh Jackman captured four gold medals with victories in the 100M, 400M, Long Jump and Triple Jump SoHi’s Dalton Best won the Discus and Josh Shuler won the 3200M Nikiski’s Luke Johnson won the Shot Put SoHi won all four relays with victories in the 400M, 800M, 1600M and 3200M Relays   Next up: 2016 Region III Track and Filed Championships @ Colony High School Friday and Saturday, May 20-21   Kenai…
