The Kenai Kardinals opened their home soccer season with a pair of victories over the Homer Mariners on Thursday on Ed Hollier Field.

The 2023 State Champs Volleyball Camp, a yearly volleyball skills camp sponsored by the Kenai Volleyball Booster Club, is scheduled for May 22-24 at Kenai Middle School.

The KCHS Youth Basketball Camp, designed for boys and girls in 4th through 6th grade, will run on five consecutive Saturdays beginning April 15th at Kenai Central High School.

The 2023 Joe Floyd Award recipient, recognized for lasting and significant contribution to Alaska through sports,  was awarded to Kathleen Navarre. 

Seven Kenai Peninsula athletes were named to all-state teams in three classifications, including a 1A Player of the Year selection for CIA’s Ian McGarry.

The Soldotna girls finished second in the varsity team scoring behind only Chugiak in a field of 22 teams. 

Thirty-four schools have pre-registered for the Big C meet, including teams from Kenai, Nikiski, Soldotna, Cook Inlet, Homer and Seward.

The Kenai Soccer Jamboree is set for Friday and Saturday, March 31st and April 1st with two-days of soccer played in short, 25 minutes matches.

Derek Foote joins the Oilers organization and brings a wealth of baseball knowledge both on and off the field; and a family history in baseball that includes three generations of baseball experience.

The Kenai Kardinal basketball teams closed competition on Friday at the ASAA 3A State Basketball Championships with the Kenai girls holding-off Sitka for 4th Place and the Kenai boys surrendering a lead to fall to Valdez.
