Coast Guard Rescues Two Hunters On Mount Kelly

Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak C-130 Hercules aircraft crew deployed from the air station’s Forward Operating Location in Kotzebue. They flew over Mount Kelly to locate the hunters and assess the weather ahead of an MH-60 Jayhawk crew deployed from Forward Operating Location Kotzebue to pick up the stranded hunters.

On Tuesday, recordings were released by the Environmental Investigation Agency where people hired to pose as potential investors in the Pebble Project recorded calls with Pebble officials in August and September of this year. They posed Senators Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan being harmless in posing a risk to the project, as they were said to only voice opposition when the sentiment does not mean much of consequence.

Soldotna Approves Spending For ‘Critical’ Services, Including Up To $1,500 For Soldotna Households

The Soldotna City Council approved a resolution to allot funds as part of Soldotna’s Phase II of CARES Act spending, including grants of up to $1,500 for qualifying Soldotna households. Also, direct relief is included for groups that provide aid to those in-need. Included are specific individual grants to the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank, Love INC, and Peninsula Community Health Services.
