Senator Sullivan told KSRM that fishermen will be seeing aid from the CARES Act, but that it currently sits with the state: “The CARES Act actually has a provision in it… It was a $300 million fund for our fishermen. $300 million from the CARES Act is with the state right now.”

The program’s aim is to provide additional money for families to buy food, making up for food expenditures due to COVID-19 related school closures during March, April, and May of the 2019-2020 school year.
