Public Testimony To Be Held Regarding $1.5 Million Renovations Of Soldotna Regional Sports Complex

The City of Soldotna will hold a public hearing regarding spending $1.5 million to adopt the city’s plans for upgrading the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex. The funding had initially been discussed when the Council approved the capital funds plan for fiscal years 2021 through 2025. Each project in that plan must still be debated and approved on an individual basis.

Alaska Experts To Discuss Reducing E-Cigarette Use Among Minors

Youth e-cigarette use in Alaska is roughly three and a half times the rate of cigarette smoking, according to the 2019 Youth Behavioral Risk Survey. Tobacco-related health disparities also persist in Native populations with data showing that 16.1% of American Indian and Alaska Native middle schoolers and 40.4% of American Indian and Alaska Native high schoolers currently use e-cigarettes. This rate is much higher than the general population.
