The leadership coalition Change 4 The Kenai is working to help folks on the Kenai not only develop solidarity during a time where “social distancing” is the buzzword of the day, but they also want to help showcase exactly what six-feet looks like, for real-life practical usage.

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District is working with area school principals to develop plans to celebrate graduating students in the Class of 2020.

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported two new positive COVID-19 cases in their Monday update. That makes the total positive case count in the state 370.  The total number of recovered patients, as of Monday’s update, stands at 263 out of the 370 total positive cases that have been reported.

Governor Mike Dunleavy held a press briefing on Friday evening to talk about how the Federal CARES Act impacts Alaska. Specifically, the path of the money towards getting to its intended home, as well as the dispute regarding Alaska Native Corporations receiving funding from the tribal entity allocation.

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported nine new positive COVID-19 cases in their Friday update. That makes the total positive case count in the state 364. Five cases originated in Anchorage, one in Eagle River, one in Homer, one in Anchor Point, and one in North Pole.

Governor Mike Dunleavy urged Alaskans to support the local agricultural market, during a Wednesday evening press briefing, in a response to the nationwide stir caused by infections among workers in meatpacking plants in the lower-48.

Dr. Anne Zink, Alaska’s Chief Medical Officer, has recommended not following the idea of ‘herd immunity’ as a strategy to tackle future COVID-19 spikes in Alaska. She discussed the issue during a Thursday evening press briefing with Governor Mike Dunleavy.

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported no new positive COVID-19 cases in their Thursday update. That leaves the total positive case count in the state at 355.
