Governor Mike Dunleavy announced April 10 as Alaska’s Day of Prayer and Hope, an interfaith day of prayer in which Alaskans are called upon to join in prayer and reflection for Alaska in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to one’s own consciences and religious traditions
The DHSS has clarified COVID-19 Health Mandate 11: Social Distancing with Health Alert 011, clarifying guidelines specifically with regards to religious practices.

Alaska’s Revenue Department is projecting general fund revenue of $1.6 billion for the fiscal year ending June 30, which is down $500 million from the original projection of $2.1 billion from a forecast released in December. The new projection comes from a forecast released on Monday, April 6.

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported six new cases of COVID-19, including one from Soldotna. Three new hospitalizations in Alaska were also included in Monday’s update. The total positive case count in the state now stands at 191.
The cooperative solar purchasing campaign Solarize the Kenai has chosen Midnight Sun Solar as the installer that will bring discounted solar power systems to its participants. Until August 1, Midnight Sun will be offering solar installation at a special Solarize rate to home and business owners.
The Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly held an emergency session Friday afternoon in order to look at three emergency ordinances. All three passed during the meeting.
According to the Alaska State Troopers online trooper dispatch, the Troopers investigated a possible assault in the village of Akiachak on April 4, which ended up with an additional charge of Animal Cruelty.
Governor Mike Dunleavy’s administration has launched a new virtual school for Alaska students in partnership with a Florida program amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The state of Alaska signed a $525,000 contract through February 2021 with the Florida Virtual School.
