CPH Seeing Benefits After Their Call For Homemade Masks

Central Peninsula Hospital announced earlier in the week that they are welcoming fabric homemade masks from the community, and are now offering commentary about how the effort has helped thus far and how the masks are being utilized at CPH.

Jobs Up 0.4 Percent From February Of Last Year

Alaska’s job count was up 0.4 percent in February from February 2019, an increase of 1,300. The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell two-tenths of a percentage point, to 5.8 percent. The comparable U.S rate remained at 3.6 percent.

Senators Murkowski And Sullivan Discuss Emergency Relief Legislation

Positive COVID-19 Cases Reach 59 In Alaska, New Case From Homer

A total of 17 new positive cases of COVID-19 tests were announced by Dr. Anne Zink, Alaska’s Chief Medical Officer, during a Wednesday evening town hall hosted by Governor Mike Dunleavy. Among those 17 new cases includes a Homer resident.  The total of positive cases in Alaska has now reached 59.

State Legislature Expands Mental Health Services

The Alaska Legislature passed Senate Bill 120 on Tuesday, which grants Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and Physician’s Assistants the authority to prescribe psychotropic medication, without consent, to patients in court-ordered inpatient care during a crisis situation.

Division Of Public Health Advises Kids To Play Outside

President Trump Extends Deadline To Obtain REAL ID
