On Thursday afternoon, Central Peninsula Hospital issued a press release stating that they are increasing safety measures again, now screening all patients and visitors who enter CPH.

The Department of Transportation & Public Facilities is moving forward with reconstructing runway 16/34 to a 3,300 length in Seward, replacing the damaged main runway 13/31, which has been compromised by repeated flooding events.

Regularly scheduled northbound ConocoPhillips Aviation flights, via Shared Services, to the North Slope will cease temporarily for at least two weeks, beginning Thursday, March 19. They still plan to schedule southbound flights from the Slope for family emergencies and for project completions.

Alaska received a statewide waiver from work requirements for food stamp recipients, State Health Commissioner Adam Crum said in a Wednesday press availability.

On Tuesday, the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District began rolling out surveys to each family with a child attending a district school.  The e-mailed survey gives families the opportunity to discuss internet speed, wireless capability, and devices available in the house, seemingly aiming for how capable each family is for distance learning.
