The Alaska Senate Democrats held a press availability Wednesday afternoon to discuss their priorities for the current legislative session.
The Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly, at their meeting on Tuesday, approved to move forward with the issuance of a bond that would cover the cost of an ambulance for $213,636, and a new gurney system for 37,331.70. The total is $250,967. Back in October of 2015 voters on the Kenai Peninsula approved bonds for the purchase of emergency response vehicles for Central Emergency Services.
The Kenai Peninsula Borough will be testing the KPB Alerts system beginning Friday, January 24 between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. During the test, residents will receive an automated phone call to landline and registered mobile phones, as well as a text message if residents are signed up for that service.
Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Superintendent John O’Brien will be presenting a preview of the upcoming 2020 school year and what’s in store for the district at the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Wednesday.
