The baseball season for the American Legion Post 20 Twins opens on Saturday and Sunday in Fairbanks with doubleheaders scheduled.  All four games are scheduled as league contests.   The Post 20 Twins are the reigning Alaska American Legion baseball champions, winners of the 2016 state championship.   Reprint of 2016 state championship story from 7/30/2016 The Post 20 Twins American Legion baseball team claimed the 2016 Alaska Legion Baseball state championship with an 8-7 victory over Service on Saturday night at Mulcahy Park in the state tournament championship game. Championship Game: Kenai 8 – Service 7 The Post 20 Twins scored a single run in the second inning, added three runs in the third and a run in the fourth for a 5-0 lead over Service.  The Service Post 28 scored a run in the sixth and two in the seventh to draw close at 5-3; the Twins then added two in the bottom of the seventh for a 7-3 advantage.  The game turned in the eighth inning with Service scoring four runs to tied the game at 7-7.  In the bottom of the eighth, Calvin Hills scores the game-winning run scoring on a Justice Miller RBI ground ball.…
