The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Fairbanks District issued a fire prevention order prohibiting campfires, fireworks and explosives on federal lands in a fire-prone area of black spruce near Fox, Alaska, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) facility site on the Steese Highway on June 7th, 2023.

Commercial seasons for the Cook Inlet Area directed lingcod and pelagic shelf rockfish (PSR) jig fisheries, and retention of lingcod as bycatch, will open July 1.
