Update 4:01 p.m. – The Soldotna Police Department has concluded the crash investigation. The vehicles have been removed and the highway has been opened. Normal traffic flow has resumed. 

The purpose of the town hall is to talk with Alaskans about the Governor’s Fiscal Year 2022 budget plan to stabilize Alaska’s economy and the State’s vaccine distribution efforts.

To date, the SBA has approved $197 billion in low-interest loans which provides working capital funds to small businesses, non-profits and agricultural businesses make it through this challenging time. The deadline extension comes as a result of the recent bipartisan COVID-19 relief bill passed by Congress and enacted by President Trump on Dec. 27, 2020.

In the week since focused holiday traffic enforcement efforts began statewide, Alaska State Troopers and Wildlife Troopers have issued 284 citations and investigated 52 collisions across Alaska’s roadways.

Governor Mike Dunleavy: “The Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) is a key part of Alaska’s economy. Annually, ANC is responsible for $1.8 billion of economic benefit to the state. These new passenger transfer rights are an asset that can help grow Alaska’s economy.”

Homer Electric notes that they were quick to react: “Crews were on it, they got that off, and power was restored by 9:10 a.m. this morning.”
