The threat warning for Pavlof Volcano has been lowered from “watch” to “advisory” by the Alaska Volcano Observatory.
Eruptions and minor ash emissions began May 13th on the Aleutian Island Volcano but have now ended and seismic activity connected with lava effusion is no longer being detected.
However the observatory says Pavlof will remain in a heightened state of unrest, meaning the volcano could return to eruptive activity with little or no warning, at any time.
An ash plume was sent 37,000 feet into the atmosphere on March 27th, cancelling flights across the interior and northern Alaska for two days.
