The Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC) and the Kenai Peninsula Region Virtual Job Fair will be held from Tuesday, March 30th through Friday, April 9th. This free event is for employers and job seekers and there is no registration fee to participate in this event.
The Kenai Peninsula Job & Career Fair would normally be held, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the related restrictions, this event will be held virtually. The event will serve as a convenient way for employers to interact with job seekers and utilize the State of Alaska’s new Virtual Job Fair platform.
Hanah Burrell, the Business Connections and Apprenticeship Specialist for the Gulf Coast Region with the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development says that this new Virtual Job Fair platform can also serve as a valuable tool in an employer’s recruitment toolbox for speaking with and hiring qualified workers. The Virtual Job Fair platform allows for each employer to have their own customized page, which can highlight your company and identify employment opportunities. During the virtual job fair, employers and job seekers will be able to connect in real time using various tools including chat rooms, webcasts, employer online hiring sites, and more.
Registration forms need to be filled out and submitted to [email protected]. The deadline to register is Monday, March 15th. For more information about registering as an employer for the AVTEC and Kenai Peninsula Region Virtual Job Fair, call Hannah Burrell at (907) 335 – 3030.
