The Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly adopted a resolution that authorizes a sole source award for services to NC Machinery to rebuild a track loader. A 953C track loader is being used at the Homer Transfer Facility for management of the inert waste cell. Several components of the track loader are listed in poor condition and with 50% useful life remaining on the equipment based on hours, the unit needs to be rebuilt.

Borough Mayor Charlie Pierce:

This is a request for a $94,100 repair to an existing piece of equipment from NC Machinery to rebuild a track on a loader that we currently have. This sole source request is because NC Machinery is the manufacturer of this piece of equipment. They have the parts and some trained service providers.”

NC Machinery is the designated service shop and parts supplier for the CAT equipment in the Kenai Peninsula Borough. Funding is made available for these services in existing operating funds.

Funding for the project will cost $94,100.
