SoHi Baseball Downs Homer In Home Opener

Baseball finally opened on the central peninsula with the Soldotna Stars hosting Homer on Monday in high school baseball.

 

The Stars dominated Homer 8-1 on the strength of a combined two-hitter by the Stars pitchng staff.  SoHi starter Logan Smith pitched four innings and allowed two hits and struke out four.  SoHi relievers closed-out the contest without allowing a run, or a hit.

 

The Stars scored three runs in the first inning, one in the second and two additional runs in the third for a 6-0 lead through three innings.  Brandon Crowder lead the offensive attack with a 2 for 3 day at the plate, including two runs and two RBI.  Cody Quelland added two runs scored and two RBI.

 

Soldotna baseball travels to the Valley on Friday and Saturday to face the Colony Knights, in Wasilla, on Frday and the Wasilla Warrirors on Saturday.
