Basketball fills the high school sports schedule with the Kenai boys battling in the Dimond Prep Shootout, the Nikiski basketball teams traveling for three sets of Southcentral Conference games, and the SoHi basketball teams finally playing on their home court.

Adam Trujillo scored 22 for the Kardinals.

Kenai plays West Valley on Saturday in the 7th/8th place game at 2:30 p.m. on KSRM 920AM and www.radiokenai.com

Thursday Game Results

A bracket change before the tournament began moved the Kenai Kardinal boys to a match-up against 3A power Valdez on Thursday in the Dimond Prep Shootout’s first round.

Kenai fell to Valdez 55-37 in the tournament’s first round.

The Kenai boys, in a second tournament in two weeks, are competing in a field which includes: Valdez, Eagle River, Barrow, Palmer, Grace, West Valley and host Dimond High.
