Peninsula basketball teams in the 3A and 4A division are at some point going to grow tired of each other; for now, they are just getting introduced.
The Soldotna Lady Stars improved to 2-0 and the Kenai boys stand at 2-0 after the first week of the regular season.
SoHi Girls 49 – Seward 11
The Star girls built a 23-2 lead at the half enroute to a 49-11 victory over Seward in Seward. Morgan Bouschor scored 15 and Josie Sheraton added 13 for the Stars.
SoHi Boys 33 – Seward 48
The Seward boys held the SoHi offense in check for a 48-33 Seahawk win. Max Pfeiffenberger led Seward with 17 points; SoHi’s Ethan Sewell scored 16.
Kenai Girls 47 – Nikiski 30
The Kardinal girls improved to 1-1 with a 47-30 victory over the Bulldog girls on Saturday at Kenai. Emma Beck lead the Kenai attack with a 20-point effort. Lillian Carstens scored 16 points for the Bulldogs.
Kenai Boys 58 – Nikiski 37
Jordan Kvasnikoff lead the Kenai boys with 20 points as Kenai steadily built a 20-point lead on their way to a 58-37 victory over Nikiski on Saturday. Kenai lead 31-18 at the half. Drew Handley topped the Bulldogs with 12 points.
