Basketball State Championships Featured Familiar Faces In 4A: 3A Boys Title Game Matched “Upset” Pairing

The 2018 ASAA State Basketball Championships advanced into Championship Saturday with four Alaska state champions crowned on Saturday.

The 4A girls and boys championship games featured the same pairings as the 2017 championships; Wasilla and Dimond both advanced both girls and boys to the title games.  The Wasilla girls and the Dimond boys won state championships in 2017.

The 3A girls spotlighted the #1 seed Anchorage Christian School girls, undefeated in 3A for the season, against the #2 seed Sitka Wolves.

The 3A boys championship games were minus the top-two seeds; as Barrow advances with a victory over #1 seed Monroe on Friday and Grace Christian advances following a win on Friday over the #2 seed ACS boys.

Barrow Boys 65 – Grace Christian 52

Dimond Girls 61 -Wasilla 45

Wasilla Boys 47 -Dimond Boys 44
