With the cancellation of state basketball tournaments last week and with the cancellation of all spring sports in Alaska announced on March 23; the final high school season-which was left started but unfinished- high school basketball, has left one (per division) question.
Who’s #1?
The ASAA 3A & 4A State Basketball Championships were scheduled to begin Wednesday, March 25th at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage.
The Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches conducts a ranking of teams in all four divisions throughout the regular season of high school basketball. That may have to serve as the definitive word, as teams will not have the opportunity to settle the matter on the courts.
The hypothetical top teams (as determined by AABC) in each division as of March 9th are based on regular season games for the 4A division and may include conference tournament results for 1A, 2A, and 3A divisions.
