Basketball Tournaments Advance Into Friday Schedules

Alaska’s March Madness continues Friday with championship games, semi-finals and double-back rounds at the 3A Peninsula Conference, 4A Northern Lights Conference , and 2A Interior Conference.

Conference tournaments determine qualifying teams to the ASAA state basketball championships.

 

3A Peninsula Conference: Grace Christian School

The 3A Peninsula Conference Tournament at Grace Christian School features championship night and the pairing in the double-back rounds.

Kenai Girls 44 – Nikiski Girls 30   Kenai advances to noon game against Homer Mariners.

Emma Beck scored 19 points for the Kardinals; Nikiski’s Avery White led the Bulldogs with 15 points.

Seward Boys 46 – Homer Boys 41   Seward advances to 1:30 p.m. game against Nikiski Bulldogs.

Kenai Girls 44 – Homer Girls 23      Kenai advances to 2nd Place Game on Saturday at noon.

Kenai’s Chloe Goldsby opened the game with 3 for 3, three-point baskets as Kenai lead 15-0 after one quarter.  Emma Beck scored 24 points for the Kardinals.

Seward Boys 54 – Nikiski Boys 42  Seward Boys advance to 2nd Place Game on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Championship Game: Grace Girls 68 – Seward Girls 32 

Seward will play Kenai at noon Saturday in the 2nd Place Game.

Championship Game: Grace Christian Boys 62 – Kenai 37

Kenai boys will play Seward in the boys 2nd Place Game at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

All games will be broadcast on ESPN 1140AM, 96.9FM and streamed live at radiokenai.com

 

Northern Lights Conference: Kodiak High School

The 4A Northern Lights Conference Tournament at Kodiak High School features winner’s bracket semi-finals and consolation round games on Friday.

SoHi Boys 55 – Palmer Boys  44

SoHi continues play for 4th Place on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

ACS Girls 96 – SoHi Girls 29  ACS advances to Championship Game on Saturday;

Sayvia Sellers scored 30 points for ACS; SoHi’s Tanner Inman and Kaitlyn Morrison each scored 6 points for the Stars.

SoHi moves to 3rd Place Game on Saturday at 11:45 a.m. If the SoHi girls lose, they will play at 3:15 p.m in the 4th Place Game.

2A Interior Conference: Glennallen

Ninilchik continues tournament play with Wolverine girls in double-back round and Ninilchik boys in Championship Game on Friday.

Nenana 43 – Ninilchik Girls 35 

6:30 p.m.  Ninilchik Boys vs Cordova Boys Championship Game
