Peninsula Conference Tournament Crowns Champions & State Qualifiers: Bulldogs, Kards and Stars Close Regular Season

The first week of March ushers in the 1A and 2A basketball tournament season and the final week of the regular season for 3A and 4A basketball.

 

Peninsula Conference Tournament

The 1A Peninsula Conference Basketball Tournament, contested at Homer High School, crowned Ninilchik Wolverines as champions in both girls and boys divisions.

Two teams will advance to the 1A state championships in both the girls and boys divisions.

The Nikolaevsk girls and boys also advance to the 1A state tournament with second place finishes.  The Warrior boys knocked-out the reigning state champion Seldovia Sea Otters.

Northern Lights Conference

Kenai Girls 32 – SoHi 30

The Kardinals Hannah Drury scored the game winner with 2.5 seconds remaining to give Kenai a 32-30 victory on Saturday.  SoHi’s Lindsey Wong tied the game at 30-30 with only :08 seconds remainig, before the Kardinal game-winner.
