Congressman Nick Begich (R-AK) is marking his first 100 days in office by spotlighting a flurry of legislative activity, committee appointments, and constituent outreach aimed at boosting Alaska’s presence in Congress.
In a press release this week, Begich’s office said, “In just the first 100 days, we’ve set a strong foundation—passing legislation, advocating for Alaska’s right to develop our resources, and making the case for Alaska in Washington, D.C.”
Among his early legislative efforts, Begich passed two bills related to Alaska Native land access and introduced several others, including the BITCOIN Act and a bipartisan youth suicide prevention bill. His office also reports over 100 constituent cases closed and more than $460,000 returned to Alaskans.
Begich holds seats on three major committees—Natural Resources, Transportation & Infrastructure, and Science, Space & Technology—and serves as vice chair on subcommittees overseeing energy and rail policy.
While many of his sponsored and co-sponsored bills reflect core Republican priorities, their future remains uncertain in a divided Congress. Still, Begich says he intends to actively advocate for Alaska’s economic and policy interests on the national stage.
