Upwards of 1000 student athletes are anticipated to compete in the 2023 Big C Relays in the Anchorage Dome on Friday and Saturday, March 31st and April 1st.
Alaska’s largest, indoor track and field meet will feature over 30 schools, including teams from Kenai, Nikiski, Soldotna, Cook Inlet, Homer and Seward.

Alaska Airlines Pentathlon: the Big C Relays hosts a special invitational event that is based not only on athletic ability but also academic achievement and community involvement. Student-athletes are nominated by their coaches and a selection committee will invite only six individuals and two alternates.
The five events in the Pentathlon are the high jump, shot put, 100m, 300m hurdles and 800m.
Past winners from the Kenai Peninsula include: Colton Schneider, SoHi, 2011 and Tim Duke, SoHi, 2015 (Duke holds the record for combined points at 3764.
Skinny Raven Laird Prosser Memorial Mile: Open to high school and non-high school runners. Male runners attempt to become the first to run a sub-four minute mile in Alaska. In 2012, Alfred Kangogo of UAA posted a 4:05.16.
Lord of the Rings: A combined total of shot put and discus results. Record set by Bartlett’s Jordan Clarke in 2008. Clarke won the shot put with a distance of 65′ 6.5″ and the discus with 170′ 10″ (both are records for individual events).
Fastest Alaskan: Male and Female 100 M winners are crowned Fastest Alaskan. Brett Morman, South posted an 11.05 in 2016; Tanner Ealum, ACS posted a 12.41 in 2015.
Athletes from the Kenai Peninsula have traditionally posted outstanding performances at the indoor facility including multiple event records.
