The Binkley Street Renovation Project moved into the Marydale Intersection this morning.
Project Manager Lee Frey…
Frey: “Detours in place, pretty significant detours for a lot of traffic going to doctors offices, and the hospital and high school so we encourage people to go to binkleystreet.org to see where the detours are and get any construction updates. We’re finishing up work on the section in front of the borough building between Shady and Park, we’re hoping to get that section paved soon, just kind of depends on the contractors schedule at this point.”
There are currently two sections closed during this phase 3 of the project and Frey detailed some additional work to be done.
Frey: “The stop lights at the park intersection should be coming down soon, we’re gonna be replacing those with some new high intensity pedestrian crossing lights that will be going in place instead of the lights that are in place at Park and Corral, those are only triggered when a pedestrian pushes the button to cross the road, there’s no loops in the road that activate those lights, so they’ve been there a long time and not really the best use of an intersection.”
He said that tentatively the project is scheduled to be done in late October.
