The project to install a traffic signal and intersection at Birch Street and the Sterling Highway in Soldotna will begin Wednesday.

McCarthy: “We wanted to let the public know that there will be some changing traffic patterns in the area, a few different configurations as they work throughout the summer but the good news is there will be no traffic restrictions at all through the month of July.”
She said during July the crews may continue working on the project’s side streets but there will be no traffic disruptions.
The project includes…
McCarthy: “Add traffic signals to the intersection of Birch Street and Sterling Highway, widen Birch Street for turn pockets, relocate utilities, add drainage features, and maintain the existing pathways.”
The installation of that light was spurred by the increased traffic in the heart of Soldotna on the Sterling Highway.
The project is slated to be completed this summer.
